The meeting was called to order at 6 PM by President Steve Hudson at Spooky’s in The Dalles. Aaron Hageman lead us in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. INTRODUCTIONS: Welcome back to members Dave & Sharon Knapp. OFFICERS PRESENT: All Officers present with the exception of the VP. GUESTS: None tonight. GOOD of the ORDER: Con Kilian had a joke for us. TREASURER’S REPORT: Kathy Shebley-Kilian gave the treasury report noting that all bills are paid other than the printers, which will be paid tomorrow. MINUTES of PREVIOUS MEETING: A motion was made to approve the minutes for the June 2013 meeting as printed in the July Cruiser. Motion seconded & passed. CORRESPONDENCE: None. MEMBERSHIP REPORT: There are 109 paid member/families with 57 at tonight’s meeting. TECH TIPS/SHOP RECOMMENDATIONS: Sam Bilyeu recommends reading & believing your gas gauge. Con Kilian discovered that tires that are several years old, even though they don’t have a lot of miles on them, could be bad & in need of replacement. Theron Keller warns to use caution in looking at vehicles (or other items) on eBay. Clicking the SEND button could result in an unwanted purchase. NEW ARRIVALS: Sam Bilyeu has acquired a ‘57 Pontiac Star Chief. CARS & PARTS FOR SALE: Mark & Ellen Anthony are offering their ’35 Ford sedan for sale. Sam Bilyeu has a ’50 Chev half-ton PU for sale with lots of parts & pieces. Bob Earls has a ‘71 VW convertible for sale. EVENT REPORTS (Past): Members entered several car shows in the area; four vehicles entered at Goldendale; several at North Booneville; a few at the WAAM show; Ed Beardsley to the Three Rivers show at Metolius; Kaseberg’s, Kiser’s & Olsen’s won awards at the Fossil Show; and the Vollmer family won the award for Most Patriotic vehicle at the Rufus show. Bob & Patty Peickert and Joan & Dale Coles attended a Wounded Warriors benefit show in Hermiston. UPCOMING EVENTS: Burgerville will host a Community Appreciation Day on July 20th. July 20th is also the date for the Sisters show. Wamic will host a show on July 27th. In Estacada the NW Nomad Club is having a show which is open to all vehicles on July 28th. Larry & Helen Clark have invited Club members to Camp Baldwin on the afternoon of Sept. 15th. As in the past, this will be a potluck with the Clarks providing the main entrée. CRUISE the GORGE REPORT: Mark Fortin reports there is still a need for help with the closed cruise on Friday night from 7 to 9 PM. Five certified flaggers are also needed with the possibility of one already promised to help. John & Barb Kiser are looking for help with the tee shirt sales. To date, approx. $1,400 of shirts, tank tops & sweatshirts have been sold. Goody bags are expected to be ready by July 24th. The search for raffle gifts continues & any additional items for the raffle would be appreciated. The car-themed quilt sewn by Nancy Stroh, always a popular & sought after raffle item, was on display for Members to view tonight. Thank you, once again, Nancy! OLD BUSINESS: None tonight. NEW BUSINESS: None. DRAWING: The names drawn tonight were Lynn & Marlene Long, Charlie Hore & Bill Harrington, none of whom were present. The drawing amount for August will be $40.00.
